Professional Staff

The office and maintenance crew at Baytowne is top notch. As a 6 year citizen in Champaign, I can honestly say Baytowne is the nicest apartment community in town. Everyone has made us feel welcome and has been quick to solve any issue we might have. 10/10 would recommend!

Clean, Secluded, Quality Apartments

Clean, quality apartments. Within walking distance of Chilis, Portillos, Longhorn Steakhouse, Pier 21, Best Buy, and many others. 5 minute drive to Champaign's great downtown with unique coffee shops, fine dining, and retail. Love living here.

Good Apartment Complex but Still Room for Improvement

I have enjoyed living in Baytowne Apartments. The proximity to the highway, shopping, and to downtown Champaign makes it a desirable place to live. The appliances are good and layout works well. The biggest issue we had was the apartment was not professionally cleaned, nor was it checked for any issues. The toilet in the bathroom had a cracked seal, and the apartment smelled like dust when we walked in. To be fair, as soon as we made the issues aware, they were resolved quickly. During the Summer, algae grows wildly in the lake and during especially hot days it smells bad. It would be nice for it to be cleaned during the Summer instead of waiting for the Fall. I love the pool, the restaurant, the amenities, and especially the staff. Every interaction I have had with the staff has been professional, courteous, and felt like they've put forth all their effort in helping me.

Excellent place to live

Comfortable, convenient, friendly. Maintenance is so fast and done well. Only issue is that I can hear upstairs neighbors very loudly at times. Not a fault of the apartment complex, as noisy neighbors are a reality everywhere.

A Dream Come True

Living at Baytowne has been absolutely wonderful. The staff are incredibly kind and always quick to respond when there's any questions I might have. The grounds are beautifully kept and it's always warm and welcoming. Couldn't imagine a better place to live in Champaign.

I like living here so far.

Once I locked myself out and the guard at the gate was so helpful. I got back into my apartment within 10 minutes I'm glad I decided to live in a gated community.

Very Happy

Most important thing is that my wife feels safe here at Baytowne. Very impressed with all of the staff. Very courteous, friendly, respectful. All of the neighbors that I have met met are also friendly and helpful. I would recommend Baytowne.

A very beautiful, comfortable and convenient place to live.

I would tell them that the complex is an excellent place to live, so close to all of life's many amenities, i.e. restaurants, specialty shops, shopping centers, etc. It's being a gated community gives one a perfect sense of security and safety. It has a beautiful layout, where one can walk run bike, play volleyball tennis and sunbathe in the summer. It has a clubhouse which serves excellent food, a gym and a racquetball court one can use at regular hours. It also has an outdoor pool which is open all summer. The staff is friendly and accommodating. I truly enjoyed my six year stay at Baytowne. I highly recommend Baytowne Apartments to anyone looking for a place to live in Champaign Urbana.

Pretty nice but utilities are high and property is too dark

The townhomes are expensive and the utilities are high because the insulation is not good and the windows are not efficient so it feels pretty drafty. Also the there are not enough return vents and heat vents so the temperature is not even throughout the house. These apartments are located in a great area for shopping and entertainment. The maintenance team resolve problems quickly and the staff are friendly. The snow is cleared out quickly and salt is put down quickly. I am little upset that after my lease expires I need to pay a non-refundable transfer fee of 500 if I want to move to another apartment.

Nice enough with a few disappointments

Baytowne is a nicely secluded place to live with excellent proximity to just about any commercial service you could ever want, but a few significant disappointments left me wondering if it was really worth the rent. Firstly, one of my primary criteria for a place to live was to have a garage. When I moved in, I was told there weren't any garage spaces available but that I could be put on a waiting list. When I turned in my keys two years later, I was still on that waiting list. Long story short, Baytowne really should not advertise as having garages. The pool is fine though often crowded. The maintenance response is excellent my water heater failed and within an hour someone was out to investigate the problem. By noon the next day, the water heater was replaced without me having to lift a finger. Another general complaint would be the horrible office hours they keep - only a few hours on Saturday and no time during the week when I could be away from work. For someone like me who doesn't have very free weekends, it meant having to rearrange my work schedule in order to visit the office. Adding just another hour to their office hours ie saying open until 6 00 would have made life much easier. My unit also did have a bit of a silverfish problem, though I acknowledge that's a very difficult pest to get rid of, and I know Baytowne puts in a lot of work toward pest control. There's also some obvious dilapidation to the buildings, many of which have portions of siding missing. This is more of an aesthetic comment than anything. Other than these complaints, I'd say it's a pretty nice place to call home.

I've been extremely happy here

Quiet, well kept apartments and grounds Having a guard in the gatehouse checking in visitors helps me feel safe. I love the view of the water and visiting the clubhouse. The well planned events are also a highlight for me I definitely feel like my home is in a neighborhood with a strong community, not an apartment complex

Baytowne is such a great place to live

I have been here almost two years now and I still feel that I live in a resort. I appreciated all the amenities it has to provide, everything has been maintained so well, and Baytowne also tried very hard to do their renovation projects to keep this place up to date. If I have to criticize it, then parking is one thing that I am not very satisfied as it doesn't have enough garages for people to rent. But there are ample open parking spaces. Noise level, I cannot hear my next door neighbor, but upstairs can hear much better than the side, but it is an apartment building, I guess compare to others it is much better. Overall, I am happy living in Baytowne, the place makes me feel safe and worry free, thanks to the hard work of the maintenance crew to keep up with fixing all sorts of problems inside and outside of the unit whenever you have it. As far as safety, after my bike got stolen from the front porch, it changed my point of view of being a safe environment, but I still feel relatively safe living in this gated community.

It is manicured and well cared for.

Most of the tenants are friendly and respectful. The staff is friendly and helpful. There are many amenities, and opportunities to participate in community activities. Lovely lake view.

Very high standard of living is provided

Resort style living

We love living here at Baytowne Our patio faces the pond and the view is amazing. The staff is great. My favorite part of living here is the ability to walk to the clubhouse and enjoy either a dip in the pool or a cold beer at the bar. Areas to improve may be the upkeep of the pond and the spider control outside on the buildings and along the mail boxes.

Best thing happened to me in IL

"The development is well managed. Exterior and interior of units are both fresh-looking and well-maintained. The staff is responsive and helpful. I look forward to coming back to home everyday after work it makes me feel safe and relax living in Baytowne. I think the rent is reasonable for what I get. The monthly Baytowne events are great even the Baytowne cafe's food is fab Way better than all of the on- or near-campus places I visited when I was apt-hunt and those that I visited of friends' no offense to any of my friends who live elsewhere . I only complaint I had once was a downstairs neighbor who loves to put on his stereo VERY loud late at night. It lasted for a couple of weeks before I reported them. Since then I never heard that noise again Again, the responsive and helpful management staff."

Overall, living here is a great experience. The apartments are quiet, spacious and comfortable. Staff is very responsive and helpful. I absolutely love being able to walk around the lake during the day or relax at the pool. I'm very happy I decided to live here.

The best apartment experience I ve ever had. Love it here.

Perfect place. Living for more than an year

overall very happy with all the aspects.It s been over one and a half year we have been living at Baytowne. It didn t write feedback earlier because time is the best teller and a substantial factor in forming a opinion. As compared to other rental properties in the town, as I have been here long enough, Baytowne definitely stands apart. First of all, apartments are very spacious and very well maintained. You can easily appreciate a sense of quality, One of the biggest plus is their friendly and helpful staff. I have tested them on many occasions during service requests and most of the times they are quick in fixing issues. Their manager is awesome. She is a really nice and helpful person. Another big plus is parking space which is quite ample even during times when your friends or relatives are visitng you. Overall, I am very satisfied with my experience at Baytowne and planning to spend all my 3 years while doing residency at this place only. I strongly recommend Baytowne to everyone.

Great place to live

"The apartment is really quiet, beautiful and well-maintained. Staffs are friendly and easy going. Living there is always like being home. We had several non-major little problems of our apartment, the remedy services their staffs provided were so prompt. In the winter, they came to shovel the snow, spring and summer they mowed the lawn. You could see it was hassle free to live in the Baytowne. Plus it was always good and lively to see people around in the community that makes you feel there were truly things going on. I also used a lot of fitness center and jogged along the pond trail, residents were so nice and adorable they would wave and smile to you as greetings every time you passed by. I love living in Baytowne but since our family is growing we have to get a house. But truly speaking, Baytowne is definitely the BEST apartment I ever had lived. There are shopping areas just minutes drive away. Everything is so accessible. If you are looking around the neighborhood you should definitely check it out."
